The dye is ideal for specifically staining the nuclei of live cells for short term imaging. RedDot\u21221 can be used to stain adherent or suspension cells. The dye is highly thermostable and photostable, providing convenient handling and ideal for demanding applications such as confocal microscopy. RedDot\u21221 has excitation\/emission maxima at 662\/694 nm, for detection in the Cy\u00ae5 channel. It also can be excited at a wide range of wavelengths between 488 nm and 647 nm, including the 488 nm laser for flow cytometry, and can be used for DNA content analysis by flow cytometry. RedDot\u21221 also can be used for normalization of In Cell Western\u00ae in fixed cells, similar to Draq5\u2122\/Sapphire\u00ae700.\u00a0\u00a0Please note: far-red dyes like RedDot\u21221 are not visible to the human eye, but must be imaged with a CCD camera or by confocal microscopy.\u00a0\u00a0Like Draq5\u00ae, RedDot\u21221 is toxic to cells within a few hours, and is recommended for short term staining experiments.
